Like I said, I have gotten so many great ideas lately from Pinterest and the first one that I tried were the ribbon topiaries for my 3 year olds Strawberry Shortcake party a couple of weeks ago. I think they turned out pretty well! I got the idea from http://www.bellasoiree.com/. So with a little bit of confidence that I now have I decided to try the Valentine's Day wreath that I found on http://www.sheskindacrafty.com/. My product got finished today and it definitely doesn't look as good as my muse, but oh, well.
I am so excited. I just found out a day ago that I am going to get to go to the mountains this week. I am going to take my 3 year old and my mom and we are going to sew, shop and eat! Sounds awesome. I will post some pics if we have any snow. I just can't wait to be in my house in the mountains. I feel so much more energetic and peaceful at the same time. Maybe one more post before I leave..

The Musing Begins
Since becoming addicted to Pinterest, I have had the opportunity to read through a lot of different blogs that have just inspired me. I love all of the decorating details and the funny stories. I have read a lot about moms living in the country and making quilts and jamming, and I am incredibly jealous!! That is my dream. Right now I live in a pretty big city in the south but yearn for the North Carolina mountains. We actually bought a second home up there about 4 years ago that sits on 2 acres of land, but financially it is difficult and we don't get to get up there enough. With 3 boys with sports we are contstantly at the mercy of their practice and games. Even though I am in the city, I am constantly trying to learn how to be more crafty and homey and this is why I began this blog. This will give me the chance to express my thoughts and ideas and also my progress on turning my life into something I get great joy from. Right now I am working on a ribbon Valentine's wreath and I am also trying to teach myself how to crochet. With 4 children, it isn't always easy but it keeps my sanity! So look forward to further postings on crafts I am doing, recipes I like and books that I am in love with.
